Hope you’ve had a fantastic week! My days have been filled with my daughters dancing. She’s been at the studio 5 days straight, so it’s downtime for her tomorrow! For my hubby and I, we have a family wedding to attend. Summers are usually filled with a wedding or two, I’m sure most of you can relate. It’s either weddings, baby showers or endless kids birthday parties.
What to wear to an end of summer or early fall wedding? The one we are attending is an outdoor ceremony, so our fingers are crossed for sunny weather!! The evenings tend to be cooler and even though the reception is indoors, I bet the air con will be pumping. I love to wear dresses and of course that’s the plan for this event. I’m also a girl who is always “freezing” even when it’s warm out. My plan is to take and more than likely wear, my off-white H&M coat (similar) that I picked up last spring. It’s so pretty and pairs perfectly with a cocktail dress.
I still follow the old school rule of not wearing white to a wedding. I would consider doing so if it has been okay’d by the bride, if I knew for sure the couple is having a non-traditional wedding or an all white theme would be very cool. Do you abide by the bride only wears white concept?! Nowadays we tend to be more lax on tradition but sometimes it’s nice to keep things as they once were.
Let’s talk about the dress I chose, it’s another Target find. I love the burgundy/wine shade it’s an excellent fall color and the cream detailing adds some femininity. One major bonus is you don’t have to wear a strapless bra woo-hoo! The sleeveless style gives enough room to hide your bra straps and to me that’s such a win! Because the dress is so vibrant and the focal point, I paired it with my fave nude Steve Madden heels, cream drop earrings and a simple gold bangle to finish the look.
I feel like I’m wedding guest ready! All I need to do add is a cute bag or clutch to hold my lip stick and cell phone!
Cheers to the weekend!
