TARGET REUNION

Let’s start off by saying I’m still mourning the loss of Target since it left Canada last year.  I know so many friends who feel the same way and we wish it would come back.  I know that’s not going to be happen, but I long for the days I would go for some “me time”, grab a Starbucks latte and peruse the isles mindlessly.  I literally would go 1-2 times a week and almost always come out with something.  I don’t know what it is about the store that makes it so appealing?! My friends across the border – you understand!  The store has everything.  Even my daughter loves shopping there. For whatever reason the toy department is just so much better she says.  When my Mother in-law offered a cross-border shopping trip for myself and mini-me I was in!!  Our closest border town is Buffalo, at only a 2 hour drive you can’t complain.

It was love at first sight all over again when we arrived at Target.  I know I sound completely ridiculous because there are so many amazing stores that excite me, but this is a “want what you can’t have” situation.  You get it.  I’m all about finding a fabulous deal so basically our entire trip was buy the the most we can and not break the bank!   Here’s our little 2 day adventure!

Day 1 – we arrived late afternoon and checked into our hotel and were pleasantly surprised how new it was! Already a good start to our mini getaway.  The next step was to browse a few stores in the area then head to our favorite restaurant to dine while shopping, the Cheesecake Factory (we don’t have it here in Toronto). It wouldn’t be dinner without trying one of the cheesecakes (my daughter’s first taste of one) and we decided on the banana with whipped cream.  Let’s just say delicious!!!

Day 2 – was our Target day.  We were out early to fuel up with some breakfast and then off to shop!  Target was literally right across the road from our hotel so it couldn’t be more convenient.  It rained that morning but it didn’t dampen our mood.  My daughter was pumped to get to the toy section because they do offer a few different things we don’t find locally at home.  I had my cart ready to go!

This Starbucks iced double espresso was an obvious choice to give me that boost to find some deals!  I headed off to the clothing section to see what I could get my hands on.  I scoured every area and came out with a full cart of items to try on.  My MIL had taken my daughter to wander the store and pick up what they needed.  My girl loves trying things on, and had found a dress that she loved.  Also she is my fashion expert and had to join me in the fitting room to give her opinions on the clothing I had chosen.

The cute little dress above she had to put on asap and was in her glory!  I found quite a few things, more style posts to come so I can reveal my purchases!!  We left the store with bags and smiles on our faces.  The day wasn’t done as we did a bit more shopping at the mall.

All in all the trip was a success and we can’t wait to do it again!  What is your fave Target find? Did I miss out?
